I’ve permanently retired the wiki due to spam. Content is preserved at http://www.mashedlibrary.com/wiki-content. I suggest forums are used where things would have been added to the Wiki previously

I’ve organised a half day ChrisMash event for 3rd December in London. Booking is now open. Unfortunately it’s not going to be as big as most of the other events – can only hold about 30 people in the pub.

I’m fed up of losing (badly) the spam battle on the wiki and so I’m going to retire it. The thing that it is mostly used for is details of mashed library events – I’ll make sure there is still a way of announcing and publicising events on here – ideas of the best way […]

I know I’m very late on this, but I can give a quick ten minute talk on how I knocked together a ‘different’ version of the Manchester Local Images Collection by scraping data and using the site’s URL as a ‘proxy’ API. Probably a better explanation is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/brokendrum70/4734275526/in/set-72157624245986191/ and the very…[Read more]

Owen Stephens started the forum topic Code syntax highlighting added to wiki in the group Wiki: 14 years, 2 months ago
At the suggestion of @jesus (!) I’ve added an extension to the wiki to enable code syntax highlighting so that code can be made more readable. To use the highlighting, wrap all code in a tag as follows <code lang=”” number=”” startat=”” range=””> The parameters are as follows: lang = language the code is from – […]

Many thanks to everyone who’s offered to speak at “Chips and Mash”! We’ve not sat down and planned the exact format for the day yet, but it’ll include a mixture of 1) talks/presentations for everyone 2) talks/presentations for smaller groups 3) Pecha Kucha (20 slides in <7 mins) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pecha_Kucha
I’m sure everyone who’s…[Read more]

Also, happy to talk about mobile-ising your OPAC or Geolocation if people are interested…

😀 All those cool things you’re doing at Lincoln — are they top secret? 😉 Come on, let’s have a talk out of you guys!
To be honest, I’m happy to talk about anything. I’ll probably chip in with John’s session on jQuery, seeing as we’re using that to customise 360 Link.
